Today marks UN World Youth Skills Day and we want to celebrate our amazing schools and colleges who deliver the difference for young people and adults alike across the Borough.
Cheshire East is well served by Macclesfield College in the North, Cheshire College South and West in the South and Reaseheath College- a national land-based college right here on our doorsteps.
Cheshire East Conservatives are proud of their track record in promoting apprenticeships and skills through the course of their work- which previously led to the authority being almost 20% above national average for apprenticeship engagement in 2018.
Conservatives successfully worked with business partners to deliver the Crewe Engineering and Design UTC in Crewe, which received a “Good” first OFSTED inspection and continues to grow from strength to strength.
We absolutely recognise the integral part that skills development, education and training plays in supporting our economy and communities- through business growth, personal development and job creation alike!
All these achievements have taken place against a background where the Labour/Independent coalition administration are now seeking to cut £110k from the adult skills training budget - this at a time when they themselves recognise the challenges of employability that many young people and families will face post-pandemic - Same old Labour!
